Messages of Congratulations

Rodney E. Slater

30th Anniversary Logo

I am delighted to congratulate all of the employees, readers, family and friends of THE BLACK COLLEGIAN Magazine in this historic 30th anniversary issue.

I applaud your dedication to the continuing education needs of America’s youth.

{Former}President Clinton, Vice President Gore and I share with you a deep interest in education and training for the future. Education {was} President Clinton and Vice President Gore’s highest priority because it is the key to opportunity, and they challenged Americans to keep pace with technological innovations and ensure that all have the skills they need for the new millennium. I especially want to encourage young men and women to choose careers in transportation so that this nation will have the skilled workforce it needs to operate and maintain the world’s best transportation system in {this} century. Congratulations and best wishes for continued success.

Rodney E. Slater
Former, U.S. Secretary of Transportation
