Large School Recruiting vs. Small School Recruiting
What percentage of the schools at which you are recruiting have above 10,000
students and what percent have below 10,000 students?
- 62.5% of employers are concentrating their recruiting at large colleges
- 12.9% will be recruiting equally from large colleges and small colleges.
- 24.6% will be concentrating their recruiting efforts more toward smaller
colleges.
Public School vs. Private School Recruiting
What percentage of the schools at which you are recruiting are public vs.
private?
- 80% of the surveyed employers are concentrating their recruiting at public
universities.
- 10% will be recruiting from public and private universities equally.
- 10% will be recruiting mainly at private universities.
GPA Restrictions
Do you restrict prospective hires to a minimum GPA level?
- 44% of employers do not restrict prospective hires to a minimum GPA.
- 36% of the surveyed employers restrict prospective hires to a minimum GPA
between 3.0 and 3.29.
- Based on the number of hires expected, 46% of the entry-level applicants
considered by surveyed employers in the year 2000 will not be restricted
based on a minimum GPA; 38% will need to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Student Characteristics in Demand
- Relevant work experience (i.e. internships) is most in demand among
employers.
- Strong communication skills and leadership experience also rank high among
the employers surveyed.
