NSEP Fellowships enable U. S. graduate students to add an important
international dimension to their education by supporting the study of languages,
cultures, and world regions deemed critical to U.S. national security.
Excluded is study of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
Fellowships are awarded in a broad range of disciplines, including business,
economics, applied sciences and engineering, history, international affairs,
law, political science, and other social sciences. Awards support
overseas and domestic study for up to 24 months. Must be a U.S. citizen
to apply. Deadline: January 15, 1999.

The Bush School of Government &
Public Service offers a two-year, masters-level professional education
(MPSA) for those individuals who seek to lead and manage public,
private or not-for-profit sector organizations. A select number of Bush
Fellowships are offered to those who best demonstrate the combination of
academic excellence, commitment to public service and leadership potential.
Graduates of this rigorous degree program will emerge with a strong foundation
of the knowledge needed for a successful career in public service as well
as gain leadership experience and specialized instruction in an applied
area. The degree program is a full-time course of study that admits students
for the fall semester only. Deadline to apply for Fall 1999 admission
is January 31, 1999.

The Program for Higher Education (PHE) at Nova Southeastern University
provides a field-based doctor of education (Ed.D.) degree to practitioners
working in the fields of adult education; computing and information technology;
health care education; higher education; or vocational, technical, and
occupational education. It capitalizes on the field-based delivery system
to combine formal instruction, supervised study, and applied research in
an integrated program of study. Since 1972, PHE has been providing traditional
education in a nontraditional way.

The MBA curriculum prepares leaders for the real world of business.
The program brings together input from our faculty, senior level executives,
alumni, and our own MBA students. Our two-year MBA programs begin
each September and operate on a ten-week quarter system. Students
move through the core courses together. Ohio State's MBA programs
offer a small class size, world-class faculty with whom you will work closely,
a dynamic city serving as headquarters to many successful companies, and
a curriculum designed to deliver results. Both full-time and evening
MBA programs are available. The Fisher College MBA program seeks
students from any undergraduate major. We prefer that applicants
have four to five years of post-baccalaureate work experience, strong performance
in their undergraduate programs, and strong GMAT scores. References
and work experience are reviewed for evidence of leadership.

Name of Fellowship: Emory Minority Graduate Fellowship (EMGF)
Description of Fellowship: The EMGF covers all tuition and direct educational
costs for four years and provides an annual stipend of $15,000. The
EMGF competition is open to first-time applicants entering doctoral study
at Emory. Awards are given solely on the basis of merit and are renewed
each year contingent upon satisfactory academic performance.
Eligibility Requirements: Minority applicants must be permanent residents
or US citizens and must be pursuing Ph.D. degrees.
How to Apply: Submit an application for admission to any Ph.D. program
in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Emory.

Name of Fellowship: Donald F. McHenry Fellowships
Description of Fellowship: The Donald F. McHenry Fellowships, named
for a distinguished alumnus of Illinois State University, provide a stipend
of $6,000 and a tuition waiver for the academic year. Recipients may also
accept a graduate assistantship, if awarded by the student's academic department.
Other opportunities include tuition Waiver Fellowships, McNair and Black
Graduate Student Association Book Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for a McHenry Fellowship,
an applicants must be an US citizens of African-American ethnicity admitted
into an Illinois State graduate degree program, attend full-time, demonstrate
academic potential and financial need, and provide evidence of leadership.
How to Apply: For the McHenry Fellowship, apply to your program early
to have the admission process completed by April 1. Secure an application
from the Graduate School at Illinois State University. Application and
supporting materials must be received by April 1 at the Graduate School,
Illinois State University.

Description of Fellowship: The two Graduate Administrative Fellowships
offer graduate study support through these positions for one academic year.
The purpose of these fellowships is to make it possible for students to
study on campus and gain the experience of working in the Programs for
Higher Education and to engage in practicum reports and an applied dissertation
that will be of value to the program. The recipients also earn academic
credit toward graduate and Ed.D. degree.
Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible, an applicant must hold a
master's degree from an accredited institution and enroll, or be enrolled,
in one of the five specializations: adult education; computing and information
technology; health care education; higher education; and vocational, technical,
occupational education.
How to Apply: Applicants for the 1999-2000 year should send a letter
of intent and a resume.
