Fellowships are offered to those who best demonstrate the combination of
academic excellence, commitment to public service and leadership potential.
Graduates of this rigorous degree program will emerge with a strong foundation
of the knowledge needed for a successful career in public service as well
as gain leadership experience and specialized instruction in an applied
area. The degree program is a full-time course of study that admits students

The MU Graduate School offers master's
and doctoral degrees in more than 90 programs. The Chancellor's Gus T.
Ridgel Fellowship for Minority Americans is available for doctoral students.
Ridges fellows receive annual stipends of $10,000 (for up to four years)
and full waiver of educational fees (tuition). Fellows also may receive
a teaching or research assistantship that pays an additional stipend starting
at $3,600. The Thurgood Marshall Academic Scholars Program is available
for masters and doctoral students. The Marshall Program provides a minimum
annual stipend of $1,000 and full waiver of educational fees (tuition).
It is renewable based upon the student's satisfactory progress to the degree.
