A Man Inspired
By Derek Jackson

A Man InspiredA Man Inspired is a story of a man's journey to overcome his feelings of hopelessness through spiritual healing. Author Derek Jackson takes the reality of black men's reluctance to seek clinical treatment for depression and creates an allegory of hope against a seemingly dark and void life.

To his many admirers Jermaine Hill appears to be the epitome of perfection. He is a mega-hot motivational speaker with a top-rated television show, inspiring people everywhere to 'go for their dreams'. Women surround him dying for a mere wink of an eye and he has more money than he could ever spend in his lifetime. Appearances are deceiving. Despite this picture perfect world, Jermaine has a flaw - he can inspire everyone with reasons to live but himself.

Surrounded by the glitter of his material success, Jermaine is stuck in a dark world. Struggling alone to reconcile the depression that is consuming his life, it is only after a failed suicide attempt that Jermaine realizes that faith in God is the missing piece in his life.

"We all wear many faces but I hope that through A Man Inspired readers will realize that it is the picture that God paints of us that we can trust," says Jackson.
